2009
Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 24.25.26
April 2009
Roadgrip were delighted
to be part of the team at the Bahrain International
Circuit preparing the venue for the 4th race of
the year.
Primarily we were
there to apply Arabesque Patterns to 4 of the
Run Off areas which brought superb colour and
character to the Circuit. The final product saw
“Bahrain” written in Arabic on two
of the most prominent turns, and two areas of
Arabesque Pattern on the Oasis Straight and on
the penultimate turn. Formula One Management (FOM)
commented on how the BIC Management had transformed
the Circuit into a real spectacle.
The final product
was a team effort between BIC Management, Roadgrip
and Interstate. The design was translated into
Real-time Co-Ordinates resulting in over 3000
points being set out by GPS over 7 days to precisely
replicate the approved design on the ground.
In addition to the
Run-Off designs, Roadgrip assisted the local team
in painting Buildings, Drainage Ironwork, Barriers
and other areas of the track including the Kerbs,
Edge Line, Pit Lane and the BIC Logo at the entrance
to the Paddock.
The works were completed
over a 7 week period with a 3 man team supplemented
with local labour.
Roadgrip
wish to thank BIC for their help and enthusiasm
in making this a hugely successful project.
