Yas
Marina Circuit is one of the most iconic tracks in global
motorsport. The inaugural Etihad Abu Dhabi GP was scheduled
for November 1st 2009. This was to be the first day/night
race in F1 history. Roadgrip were contracted to Cebarco
in August 2009 to apply the track markings in preparation
for the race. The scope of works evolved into application
of run-off designs inspired by Philippe Gurdjian which
brought the circuit to life, all in the shadow of the
magnificent Yas Marina Hotel.
After
the initial application for the 2009 race, Roadgrip
developed the relationship with ADMM and continued to
maintain the circuit markings for all the Major events
held over the next 2 years, including the Aussie V8
series, GT1 World series and the 2010 Etihad F1 GP.
Some of these visits had to be carried out over condensed
track possessions of as little as 8 days, with the teams
working round the clock.
Planning
is currently under way for the 2011 Etihad F1 GP.
